Also known as the drainpipe of the Pacific, this natural wonder was one of my main reasons to visit Oregon Coast it is mostly known by thrill seeking photographers so it became on the top of my bucket list. Thor's Well is a seemingly bottomless sinkhole but is actually about 20 feet deep it fills up with water and spouts it back out with full force. So to be standing there with all the gear in the water with waves coming in just breaking up before you was a big thrill.(Sneaker waves and large sprays have been known to sweep onlookers into the ocean. Much photography gear has been consumed by Thor’s Well). We drove especially there on the day the high tide aligned with the sunset since that is the most spectacular and it sure was such an amazing experience and to make it even more special the whole time taking pictures there was a whale hanging around in the background such a wonderful place.
